Police Catch Man Using Fake Police Bike | Law Offices of Brian J. Mongelluzzo

Sep 18, 2014

Police received many complaints of a man riding through traffic lights and making traffic stops on a Bike labeled as “Police”.

On September 10th, Police caught Nicholas Ferrucci, a 21 year-old man, driving this fake police motorcycle. The motorcycle was branded with the word “Police” as well as lights and sirens on the handle bars. Ferrucci was caught speeding through a red light with both the lights and sirens on. This reckless driving almost caused two accidents. Luckily police caught him before anyone was harmed.

Ferucci was arrested by Hamden police and charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, traffic control signal violation and unauthorized lights and flashing lights.

Imagine being injured by an uninsured, unregistered, reckless driver whom you thought was the police or someone you put your trust in to keep you safe. Many people would have continued with their daily routine not even knowing that this was someone who could potentially injure other drivers; luckily it was put to an end.
