Sandy was born in Bronx, NY and moved to Waterbury in 1986 where she attended John F. Kennedy High School and graduated in 1990. She married her high school sweetheart at 17 years old and has been married for 24 years. Sandy was the first college student in her family and was accepted into Conncap program at NVCC in 2000 where she received Most Outstanding Student Award. Sandy was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Scholastic Order and member of Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society in 2002 and graduated from NVCC in 2003 cum laude with an A.S. in Legal Studies. She continued her education at Quinnipiac University and graduated in 2008 with B.A. in Legal Studies. Sandy has been a paralegal for over 10 years and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She returned to NVCC and graduated in May, 2013 with an A.S. in Human Services and is currently a student at Post University with a desire to receive her Masters Degree in Social Work. Sandy couldn't be more proud of her daughter who graduated in May 2013 from Central CT State University with a B.A degree in English.
She currently resides in Waterbury with her wonderful husband and daughter. During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family which includes traveling to car shows with her husband, cruises and going to the movies.
